Meet Your Aerialist Mentor

Ophelie's journey in the world of gymnastics and circus arts began at the tender age of 6, performing with esteemed coaches who worked for companies like Moscow State Circus and Cirque du Soleil. Despite facing significant challenges, including five major leg surgeries and living with degenerative spine disease and joint conditions, she persevered.

After a substantial break, Ophelie returned to aerial training in 2013/2014, facing hurdles such as the lack of affordability for coaching or training spaces. This period of self-reliance led to frustration due to slow progress.

In 2015, Ophelie's path took a turn when she qualified as a coach. She developed her own sustainable training methods, focusing on injury prevention and rapid, tangible progress. Today, Ophelie is a decorated professional with over 15 qualifications in fitness, aerial arts, and holistic training, specializing in rehabilitation, mobility, flexibility, and performance optimization.

Since 2017, Ophelie has been coaching aerial arts, sharing her expertise globally through performances and shows. Aerial Hoop is her chosen apparatus, complementing her extensive background in trapeze.

FAQs: Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

Have a question before joining?

1- How will I know that it is working?

By seeing the progressive overload implemented in your strategy planning at the beginning of the programme.

2- How long are the workouts?

Each conditioning workouts are between 10-20 min, and flexibility practice between 5-15min.

3- How many times do I need to practice to see progress?

It will depend on your goals, current assessment, and current routine. At the beginning of the programme we will establish together how many times you want to implement your practice. Generally, it will vary between 2 to 5 times per week, with some elements integrated within your aerial classes.

4- Do I need to already be doing aerial to do this programme?

Absolutely not! Everyone can actually benefit from this programme as it covers great foundations in conditioning and flexibility. It will also help your body get more familiar with this kind of training, should you start doing aerial training in the near future.

5- What if I am not sure of my techniques or do not understand all of the exercises?

Ophelie will send you a weekly personalised feedback based on your questions, respond to a weekly Q&A and you will access the community where you can interact with other members of the programme.

6- Is it safe to do if you are injured or hypermobile?

First, it is important to ensure that you are signed off all ok to be doing any form of exercise. Ask your physician if you are unsure. Due to the nature of not having 1:1 interaction, it is not possible to establish the level of safety. If you are hypermobile, this programme can help as long as you are aware of your movements when performing the stretches.

Here is how it all breaks down

  • Week 1: Test, set and learn foundations

Get to know how to use your programme, have a full breakdown of your first, workouts, conditioning, and flexibility routines.

You will also test yourself to track your progress and build your personalised training strategy.

  • Week 2: Putting new skills in practice

Time to put in practice and level up what you have learnt in week 1 and get to work! You will also get access to an additional home workout. It is important to understand the principles of progressive overload, and week two will help you hone those concepts.

  • Week 3: Building a challenging routine

We will start switching up the routines with new exercises that will create a bigger challenge for your body. We are starting to level up the exercises into more technical movements, and increase the load during your workouts to support faster progression.

  • Week 4: Amping up the load

Gain the confidence to increase your intensity as you feel your strength and flexibility improving. You will retest your metrics to check your progress, and evaluate how consistent you have been with your training. This will allow you to review and plan accordingly for the second part of the programme.

Week 6: Last week of guided workouts and coaching

This week will be the last time you will get the tutorials for the exercises and workouts. This is to try and create a sense of empowerement and independence in your journey. So enjoy those last moments with your coach, and push hard!!!

  • Week 7: Testing your independence

Now it is time to see if you can be on your own. This does not mean you will be left totally alone, your coach will still check in on you, but the workouts will be less prescribed. It will be important for you to see if you are able to bring more awareness to your movement while training.

  • Week 8: Last effort to the finish line

There we are. The last week of challenging work where you can fully appreciate the fruit of your labour and enjoy the visible progress. You will do a final retest and review, as well as evaluate your overall journey throughout this programme. You will be provided with additional support to help you take on your next journey.
